Now this exhibition, is one I shall remember for a very long time. I walked through the exhibition twice and had a tear in my eye after passing through the first time. I had never been to an exhibition like it. It walked you through each phase of his career telling the story of each collection, as you progressed through. It starts of with the expected, the dresses of a genius creator on mannequins in a white room. You gradually ascend through collection after collection in shock at the creativity, you go through a room illustrating his Scottish heritage to the futuristic Plato’s Atlantis. I shall never forget this one dress stood in the middle of the room and I naively didn’t take a liking to it at first, until a video started to play. My judgement of that piece soon changed. It showed a model in a white mess tutu-esk dress surrounded by paint squirting robots. As she turned an Alexander McQueen dress was beautifully destroyed right before our eyes.
