a welsh road trip
a source of inspiration
Over on my tiktok @eleanorsueart I began a series of videos that are titled a source of inspiration for my artwork, so I thought why not continue the theme over here. As a way to show you more of my process, I thought I’d share what inspires me, which often it is what I love doing most, travelling.
So this is the first one of the welsh art inspiration series
This trip was a continuation of last years adventure where we started in barmouth and worked our way to shell island and round the llyn peninsula to anglesey. So this year, with a quick stop at cadair idris, we worked our way to the beautiful pembrokeshire.
I shall start from the beginning and at our first stop bird rock. We drove through the most beautiful scenery, that was cadair idris national nature reserve, It was just stunning. As we wormed our way through the valley, there were a few houses with a lake, where a dog was having a paddle with its owner, it looked like bliss.
After the two and a half hour drive we made to our first campsite, bird rock campsite. It’s a basic campsite, however the location and it’s host are more than enough for you to love your stay. There’s a babbling stream for you to paddle in and a stunning backdrop for your obligatory instagram camping snap, although you won’t be able to post it - there’s no signal to make for a perfectly peaceful visit. We loved driving through the country roads, it was so peaceful and just what I needed after a my first nursing placement.

so once we had a received a warm welcome from the host and pitched the tent, we settled ourselves by the stream with a bbq’d burger and glass of wine, before hitting the hay. We thoroughly enjoyed our first stop and it put us in good spirits for the trip.
