manchester art gallery
sometimes training to be a nurse and being an artist can feel quite busy
so I took the day off.
I went to the art gallery. It was wonderfully relaxing to admire the artwork as well as the millionaire shortbread that I devoured, in the cafe, with a pot of tea.
there was an exhibit showing the galleries collection of sculptures, it was all about how they look after them in storage. it was also very interesting to see how the craftsmanship has evolved over the centuries, from biblical scenes to more modern pieces.

whilst you’re there it’s worth looking at their permanent exhibits, the pre-raphaelites, dutch artwork, lowry and the design room too.
