Dublin

With a week booked off from work and a desire to explore Ireland, I decided a good starting would be hopping on a plane to Dublin, for a quick getaway.

I had in mind to produce a food study for this trip. Lots of lovely food was devoured including pancakes from a lovely crêperie we visited twice . I took lots of photographs of the food I ate to draw from, when I returned home. The drawing process, for myself, is rarely to draw a lovely pencil sketch, most often it is to plan my painting. Its a great method work out the perspective and plan where everything is placed in the painting.

Next was to plan the painting, I knew I wanted the piece to be cheerful so I chose appropriate colours, pinks and yellows, perfect to illustrate the summer break and fun time I had in Dublin. I used Khadi Papers to work on. They give your painting a lovely rough grainy texture once finished. I would recommend and they look lovely once framed too.
